The Royal Naval rum was measured in half-gill tots and variously diluted, often into a two-gill (half-pint) measure.

These measures are made in the time-honoured way – from skilfully hand-beaten brass, copper-plated, polished, then lined with silver to neutralise taste. The bases are etched with the prestigious HMS logo.

Care Instructions

To clean the rum tot, wash gently in soapy water. Do not scrub as this can scratch the polished surface. Wipe dry and buff with a soft clean cloth. This will allow the tot to mellow gently as it ages.

To retain a bright shine use a brass/copper polish on the copper only. Do not use on the silver plate.
