As a local family, born and bred in Whitby, supporting local makers in the town is a really important to us and something we are always seeking to expand on in our range of curated products.
Organiser of the event Archie of Whitby Sea Salt, had a brain wave to celebrate and showcase these businesses at Whitby Brewery, which has grown from humble beginnings and is now an iconic venue and brand in the shadow of the famous Whitby Abbey.
We headed up the 199 steps and arrived to the sound of live music, the smell of freshly cooked pizza and some familiar faces from our favourite local businesses.
It was fantastic to see the community these businesses are building, supporting each other and even incorporating each other’s products into some unique creations and most importantly – celebrating each other’s successes.
As a town that relies on tourism, and its historic charm, it is integral to our future that we support local families in making a living, and continue to help these unique businesses thrive.
