Nestled amongst the higgledy piggledy rooftops, Mount House sits snug amongst Whitby’s harbour side cottages on Whitby’s west side.

The interior is a treasure trove of textures, antiques and art work, and a beautiful light that enters the house through the many large windows that gaze down upon Whitby’s 199 steps and abbey.

We can imagine a wild and windy evening spent curled up by the open fire, reading as the light from the flames dances on the hand-made wall paper.

Perhaps only lured out by a brisk walk on the beach and some fish and chips from the harbourside restaurants below.

The house is full of warm and welcoming nooks.
