Things are starting to shape up down at 11 Sandgate in Whitby and Furbellow&Co is starting to emerge from the rubble, ready for opening this weekend.

We’ve tried where we can to use reclaimed pieces, giving something old a new lease of life while adding character to the shop space.

We’ve sanded back old doors, used copper pipes to make our own rails and our counter top is handmade from a large chunk of old fir. You might even spot Fezzy, he was here when the shop was the Victorian Image, and we’ve hung him proudly above our counter to keep a watchful eye over us.

The next step this week is to install more storage and lighting and of course the stock before we open our doors on Saturday 10 March at 10am!
