Abbeyhorn – Small Natural Finish Horn Tankard

A beautiful natural finish tankard from Abbeyhorn. Holds approximately 1/2 pint.

Cow horn is exceedingly strong and durable, it responds easily to heat and can be bent and shaped with ease and it doesn’t carry flavour, and this is why it is great for use as a drinking vessel.

Please note: due to the natural material, these tankards vary in shape, size and finish. If you are looking for a particular finish please leave a note when purchasing and we will contact you and do our best to find the right tankard for you.

Also available in a rough finish.

These tankards are made in Britain by Abbeyhorn, established in 1749. Traditional methods and machinery are still used to cut, saw, mould and polish the horns into unique products. Horn is a by-product of the meat industry and with it being a natural, biodegradable material it has been ground up and used as fertiliser for hundreds of years as it is so rich in calcium it is great for use in the garden and for growing crops. Once discarded, it will leave no footprint for future generations to worry about unlike plastic.

Absolutely wonderful customer services and excellent support. I wanted a specific gansey jumper and could not find it anywhere. They were fantastic, found the jumper for me and sent it to me express delivery yesterday afternoon. Royal Mail excelled and it arrived to our surprise this morning. It is exactly what was wanted and I can't thank you enough for all your help.
